Life for me began in south west London where I was raised with my younger brother by my Trinidadian mother and Nigerian father. My memory of those days were filled with the adventure of living in a re-emerging global city, exploring what it is to be black 20 years after the first Windrush migrants arrived in the UK, big family gatherings, being involved in everything related to music, science, sport and crafts, going to church and mostly having lots of fun!
I have always had a curious nature and used to break things to see they were constructed and then put the items back together. And similarly, I break down the big questions, theories and myths, gather and analyze the facts before constructing my own understanding of the truth. It’s my way of understanding of how life and things work. And the journey has led me to so many interesting schools of thought and learnings. As my mind expanded so has my view of this wonderful and beautiful world.
I really care about how we live our lives as so many of us are caught in a way of living where we have little say of the design. I’ve spent 15 years advising companies on marketing strategies to meet their business goals. On the side I have spent even more years advising people on life strategies to meet their personal and professional goals. Many people are searching for permission, direction, guidance, signposts or anything to help them find their way to happiness and peace of mind. As as passionate student of human nature and behaviour, success and life strategies, I now spend more of my time helping people design and build better lives than helping businesses design and build better marketing campaigns – and I love it.
When I’m indulging myself I like to spend time in the great outdoors, travel, explore different cuisines of the world, buy or play with the latest gadgets and technology, discover beautiful fashion and home styles, ride horses and now exercise in Zumba classes!
Currently I still live in a vibrant and buzzy neighbourhood in south west London and freelance as a digital marketing consultant. I’m also building a lifestyle media company to help people know better and live better. The company will launch by the end of 2011.
